Born on Jan. 19th, 1946, on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poor family that would eventually include 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to escape the hardships of life with her vast and imaginative imagination. Even before learning to write and read and compose, she wrote herself with her own songs. After 8 years of age, she had her very first guitar. When she was 11 years old, she began to sing on Knoxville Tenn's radio station. Her first album was recorded that same year Gold Band Records, a tiny independent label. When she was still in highschool she made her name locally but dreamed about a larger stage. After graduating from high school in 1964, she relocated to Nashville. The first charting record she had on Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for female performers for his show that was syndicated from the beginning. Parton was brought on in the year she signed with RCA Records by 1968, becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry. The show ended in 1974, as her own albums like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene began charting the collaborations they had with each other. Following their breakup, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it made it to No. The song of Parton in 1974. I Will Always Love You climbed to No.
